Often we start photographing a wedding day with the groom at home getting ready, followed by the bride. But every wedding day is as unique as the couple getting married, and sometimes we start our day at the ceremony, after the mad rush to get dressed and out the door has subsided.

Bride Mary wanted a very relaxed and chilled morning getting ready with her bridesmaids before heading to historic Craig's Royal Hotel in Lydiard Street South, Ballarat, to meet the love of her life at the altar. So, we made some time before the ceremony to make sure we were able to capture the anticipation and build up to the big moment.

Before Mary arrived, we had some time with Simon and his groomsmen at the historic venue.

Rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck, right? Well, there was some good luck in that the rain managed to hold off until we'd done everything we'd planned outdoors. It started bucketing down when we got to Pipers by the Lake for Lauren & Nathan's reception. Luckily not right away, we had time to get a car shot first. And that is a heck of a lot of car!

After Lauren & Nathan's moving and emotional wedding ceremony at Willow Glen in November 2017, we took family photographs in the beautiful gardens. Afterwards, we were free to wander the property for some gorgeous shots of the bride and groom and their lovely bridal party.

Lauren really knows how to make an entrance! Arriving at Willow Glen in Invermay (Ballarat) in a white stretch Hummer, initially we weren't sure how the monolith of a vehicle was going to make it through the gate!

After photographing Nathan and his boys at the Provincial Hotel in Ballarat, we headed out to Lauren's family home in East Ballarat to photography the bride herself and her gorgeous girls. The only problem was, when we arrived, the bride wasn't there! We know the bride is supposed to be late, but apparently that's to the ceremony!

Luckily flower girl Summer was on hand, dressed and ready to go. Almost.
